Signum: The Pencil’s Oracle

These drawings seem less invented than unearthed. They rise from that ancient territory beneath language, where symbols are older than explanations and forms arrive before meaning can catch them. The pencil becomes a divining rod moving through hidden strata of memory, dream, obsession, and intuition. What emerges is not illustration but revelation: signs, fragments, beings, architectures of thought, all surfacing from a place the conscious mind can only partially illuminate.

Across the series, the hand appears driven by a necessity deeper than intention. Every line feels like an attempt to give shape to an unnamed pressure, a silent insistence that something must be spoken even when no vocabulary exists for it. The unconscious artist works as a medium between worlds, translating invisible currents into marks of graphite and ink. The drawings become talismans of that encounter—messages whose full meaning remains deliberately unresolved, inviting the viewer into the same labyrinth from which they were born.

In this sense, Signum is not merely a title but a condition. Each image is a sign left at the threshold between inner and outer reality, evidence of a long conversation between the solitary hand and the unknown. What the series ultimately reveals is the enduring human urge to leave traces: to mark existence, to wrestle with mystery, and to answer the darkness with symbols that continue speaking long after their maker has put down the pen.
